Requirements :


Matric plus National diploma (NQF Level 6) in media, journalism, communications, marketing or related field. Good working knowledge of MS Office, Powerpoint, and MS Excel. A valid South African driver’s license is required. Core competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Creative writing, proofreading, and sub-editing. Strong writing and editing skills. Publication coordination skills: Community and customer care orientation. Ability to function well under pressure and meet prescribed deadlines. Ability to work in a dynamic multidisciplinary environment. Have some writing experience and be highly proficient in the English language. Interview different stakeholders and produce write-ups on various human settlements and sector issues. Photography, video editing, and graphic design experience will be an advantage

Duties :


Coordinate social media communications and channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube and other relevant platforms. Monitor feedback comments posted on social media platforms in collaboration with customer support unit in order to respond to inquiries. Conduct media monitoring. Support and assist with all media and publications related work. Support events of the MEC and Departmental events by providing Social Media services. Work as part of a team to propose and develop social media ideas and content. Analyse and report audience information and demographics, and success of existing social media projects. Identify new social media and creative ways of connecting with audiences. Identify issues of interest related to the Department. Write and distribute e-newsletters. Perform other duties as assigned.
